Ketoconazole 1% is an anti-fungal medication that treats Dandruff and Hair Loss, use twice a week. It can also be used on the skin for fungal infections, if itchy bumps does not improve after 3-4 weeks, consult doctor, you may need a stronger treatment or proper diagnosis of the condition.

Ketoconazole can also be used to treat the popular social media term “Fungal Acne”. Although there is no such condition as “Fungal Acne”, it implies a fungal infection due to Malassezia Folliculitis. Most people confuse this infection with closed comedones which are clogged pores and non-inflammed acne bumps that can sometimes even be itchy if skin barrier is irritated.
True Malassezia Folliculitis infection appears as small redish/pinkish bumps that are very itchy and are usually in areas where sweat or dirty clothing have been in contact with.
