- Benzonyl Peroxide is a medical grade acne treatment and 10% is the highest strength you can get OTC.

- Benzonyl Peroxide is an antibacterial treatment, targeting the acne causing bacteria Cutibacterium acnes. It works well at reducing inflammatory acne. It can be used on the face and back

- BPO does have exfoliating effects. Therefore, overuse can lead to dryness and irritation. It would be best to start off about 3 times a week and slowly increase. In this case, having a gentle daily cleanser as well to use on the off days will be good

- For better effects, massage the cleanser and let it sit for about 3 minutes on the affected area, then rinse. This is a form of short contact therapy.
